About This Project
This placement gives volunteers an opportunity to live with a local farming family, learn about established agricultural practices and take part in seasonal farm work.
Activities may include learning how to make gundruk, weaving straw mats, making wool blankets, churning curd to produce ghee, learning about medicinal plants and observing or helping with traditional ploughing where appropriate.
Specific tasks depend on the season, weather and needs of the host family. The placement may be especially relevant to volunteers interested in agriculture or South Asian culture.
