Safety and Ethics
SOAR reviews Hosts and listings before publication, while each independent Host remains responsible for operating its program safely and lawfully.
Host verification
Review includes legal identity, registration evidence, responsible contacts, program location, safeguarding practices, transparent fees, cancellation arrangements, and the Host’s acceptance of SOAR’s price-parity terms.
Higher-risk programs
Programs involving children, residential care, medical work, wildlife handling, construction, remote locations, or vulnerable communities receive additional review. SOAR may require background checks, professional credentials, risk assessments, qualified supervision, insurance evidence, or local safeguarding policies.
Children and orphanages
Short-term placements must not replace qualified local staff or create unnecessary attachment and disruption. Orphanage volunteering is not published while SOAR’s ethics policy is under review. Project 127 remains permanently hidden from the English catalog during that review.
Reporting a concern
Use the contact page to report unsafe conduct, misleading information, discrimination, exploitation, or safeguarding concerns. SOAR may pause a listing or Host account while reviewing evidence.
