About This Project
English is an essential international language. This project helps local students develop basic conversational English skills.
Teaching takes place Monday to Friday. Volunteers typically arrive on Sunday and begin teaching on Monday afternoon. Responsibilities include:
- Discussing students' prior learning with the local team to avoid repeating material
- Planning lessons and finding new ways to help students learn effectively
- Teaching from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each weekday
- Reflecting on how to improve the curriculum

Arrival Instructions
Teaching takes place in the afternoon, leaving mornings and evenings free to explore Ubud and surrounding areas. Weekends are available for trips around Bali and nearby islands. The project is based in Ubud. Nearby attractions include Ubud Palace, Tirta Empul Temple, Monkey Forest, coffee plantations, waterfalls, volcanoes, rice terraces, Tanah Lot, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, Uluwatu Cliff, Kuta Beach, Jimbaran Beach, and Nusa Lembongan. The host family may be able to help arrange trips. Penida Island and the Gili Islands are also popular nearby destinations.
Legacy Program Cost Details
